About Rye Construction

The Rye family has been providing Mason City and surrounding areas with the very best in new construction services, dating all the way back to 1909.

When Frank Lloyd Wright, often considered the United States’ greatest architect, made his infamous exit from Mason City (with Mamah Cheney in tow), someone had to pick up the pieces and get to work on the project that Joshua Melson and James Blythe had planned to develop with Wright.

It was here that the first Rye, Chris Rye, would work with architect Walter Burley Griffin to construct many of the homes in the Rock Crest/Rock Glen Historic District. One such home, the Chris Rye House in Mason City, is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

It’s with that same sense of pride that Rye Construction, now serving the area for more than 100 years, can proudly say that the service they provide is second to none. Now in its fifth generation, Andy and Mike Rye carry on the tradition of providing each and every client with the same attention to detail Chris Rye established all those years ago. With all work being backed by the Rye Construction Follow-Up Guarantee, you can rest assured knowing that your project will be done the right way, the first time, every time.
